In a fresh video shared on their Instagram, Peacock officially unveiled the upcoming season, featuring snippets from the previous season interspersed throughout. This announcement follows close on the heels of the debut of the show’s initial season.
This month, the initial season of “The Day of the Jackal” started airing on Peacock, quickly climbing to become one of their most popular shows, currently holding the #1 spot. Additionally, it set records as the largest Sky Original production ever and the biggest new launch on Sky in more than two years.

What is The Day of the Jackal about?
The solitary and extraordinarily evasive assassin known as the Jackal (portrayed by Eddie Redmayne) conducts his deadly business for top dollar, according to the description. However, after completing his most recent assignment, he encounters his equal in a relentless British intelligence agent (Lashana Lynch). A gripping game of cat and mouse ensues as they chase each other across Europe, causing chaos in their wake.
This drama series features Eddie Redmayne portraying The Jackal, a globally recognized assassin, while Lashana Lynch takes on the role of a MI6 agent tasked with probing him. Joining them in the cast are Ursula Corberó, Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi, and Florisa Kamara.
Ronan Bennett is the creator of the series, working alongside Brian Kirk who also takes on the role of director. Redmayne, Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant from Carnival Films, Sam Hoyle from Sky Studios, and Sue Naegle are all serving as executive producers. Lynch holds the position of co-executive producer, while Chris Hall serves as a producer, with Frederick Forsyth offering consulting production services.
Starting from November 14, 2024, the initial five installments of “The Day of the Jackal” series made their debut on Peacock. Fresh episodes will be available every week until a two-episode finale is released on December 12, 2024.
