As a long-time fan of classic ’80s and ’90s films, I can hardly contain my excitement about Peacock’s upcoming television series based on The ‘Burbs! Growing up, this black comedy was a staple in our household VHS collection, with its suspenseful plot and star-studded cast. Now, with Keke Palmer leading the charge, I can’t wait to see how they modernize this suburban mystery for today’s audience.
A television series based on The ‘Burbs has been given a straight-to-series by Peacock.
Back in 1989, I found myself immersed in a hilariously eerie flick titled ‘The ‘Burbs’, directed by the talented Joe Dante. This black comedy had me on the edge of my seat as a group of suburban neighbors, including household names like Tom Hanks, Bruce Dern, Carrie Fisher, Corey Feldman, and Rick Ducommun, became convinced that the newcomers in our peaceful neighborhood were concealing some ominous secret. A must-watch for any movie enthusiast!
The production company, Peacock, has officially greenlit a direct-to-TV series based on the legendary movie
