As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for both virtual and real-life cinematic experiences, I must say I’m thrilled by the upcoming releases from A24. The release dates of ‘The Brutalist‘ and ‘Queer’ have stirred a sense of anticipation within me.
A24 has announced the scheduled premieres for two of their forthcoming movies: Brady Corbet’s movie titled “The Brutalist” and Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming project, simply named “Queer“.
When are The Brutalist and Queer release dates?
As per a recent update by Deadline, the movie titled “Queer” directed by Guadagnino will debut in select cinemas on November 27, 2024. This upcoming film is based on the novel of the same name written by William S. Burroughs and portrays the story of William Lee, played by Daniel Craig, who forms a deep bond with a young scholar.
In addition to Craig, the cast of Queer also includes Drew Starkey, Jason Schwartzman, Lesley Manville, Henry Zaga, Drew Droege, Ariel Schulman, Colin Bates, Omar Apollo, Ronia Ava, and others. For Guadagnino, this means another feature film in 2024, marking yet another busy year for the dedicated director.
Besides releasing “Challengers,” a romantic sports drama this year, Guadagnino has also been busy with another upcoming project. Starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist, “Challengers” was met with favorable responses from critics. In the near future, we can expect another production from Guadagnino titled “After the Hunt,” slated for release in 2025.
Regarding “The Brutalist,” it is set to premiere in cinemas on December 20, 2024, with a limited release. The movie features Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody portraying László Tóth, a Hungarian and Jewish architect who immigrates to the United States in 1947. In the film’s synopsis, we read that Tóth initially struggles financially but eventually lands a contract that significantly alters the next three decades of his life.
Joining Brody in the cast of “The Brutalist” are Felicity Jones, Guy Pearce, Joe Alwyn, Stacy Martin, Alessandro Nivola, and Isaach de Bankolé. This movie made its debut at the Venice Film Festival, where it was met with a 13-minute standing ovation and saw Brady Corbet awarded the Silver Lion for Best Director.
