As a seasoned player of Wuthering Waves with years of battling under my belt, I must say that Zhezhi has certainly caught my attention! With her impressive damage output and unique mechanics, she’s quickly become one of my favorite characters to play.
In this latest installment of Wuthering Waves, Zhezhi has an impressive ability to dish out substantial damage. While we’ll delve into her intricate kit details in a later section, for now, let’s concentrate on the top weapons and Echoes that work optimally with her.
The best Zhezhi build in Wuthering Waves
- Best weapon – Rime-Draped Sprouts – Increases ATK by 12%. Using Resonance Skill gives her a 12% Basic Attack DMG Bonus for 6s, stacking up to 3 times. When casting her Outro Skill with 3 stacks, consume all stacks to give 52% DMG Bonus to the off-field Basic Attacks performed by the equipped Resonator, lasting for 27s.
- Best Echoes – The main Echo to run is the Lampylumen Myriad that you can get from the boss fight of the same name located below the Tiger’s Maw Mine in the Huanglong region. You will then want to back this up with a couple of 3 Cost Echoes and then two 1 Cost Echoes, all of which should give the Freezing Frost Sonata Effect to get the full set bonus. Doing so will give you a double damage boost to Glacio. First, a flat 10% on all attacks, and then an additional 10% that stacks three times after heavy and basic attacks; this can last for up to 15 seconds.
Freezing Frost Sonata is an absolute must-have for me. There’s no way I’d skip out on it!
To optimize Echo substats, focus on increasing Critical Rate and Critical Damage whenever feasible, followed by Attack percentage. Any stat that boosts Glacio damage is beneficial, and energy regeneration is important due to frequent ability usage in Zhezhi’s rotations once the Forte Gauge is built up.
Understanding Afflatus
With each fundamental strike Zhezhi successfully executes, she accumulates Afflatus points on her Forte Gauge at the screen’s base. Her initial move also generates some Afflatus. Each full bar contains 90 units of Afflatus, which can be used to summon Phantasmic Imprints. When you are in proximity to these imprints, pressing the skill key allows you to dash towards them, dealing significant damage to nearby foes as you approach.
You can place one Phantasmic Imprint for every 30 Afflatus, and this is where a tremendous amount of your damage and on-field maneuverability comes from. Each time you use an imprint, you get a stack called Painters Delight, and the third one will consume all the stacks and give you a further 18% basic attack bonus. As such, a solid cycle becomes building a full Forte Guage, using the Afflatus to generate three Imprints, dashing between them all to get the bonus, and then using your Resonance Liberation while fully buffed.
Best team for Zhezhi
For assembling a team suitable for Zhezhi, it’s no wonder some top-tier choices emerge. Verina stands out due to her ability to swiftly recover energy from Zhezhi’s final skill and maintaining her position among the game’s elite healers. Moreover, I find Sanhua an excellent addition when focusing on dealing damage with Zhezhi, making them a formidable trio in battle.
In this interaction, Sanhua gains an advantage when Glacio sustains more damage due to Zhezhi’s Outro ability. On the flip side, Zhezhi experiences a significant enhancement in her basic attack damage thanks to Sanhua’s Outro skill. This boost is particularly influential for Zhezhi because both her Afflatus damage and ultimate are categorized as basic attack damage.
The main key to running Zhezhi is to practice using her Phantasmic Imprints and setting them up correctly. I would highly recommend using the tutorial from her Resonator page to really get to grips with how they work.
