The Batman: Part II Gets Major Script Update as James Gunn Supports Matt Reeves

Today saw a significant upgrade for “The Batman Sequel,” as we now have a more defined timeline for its release and a better understanding of the current state of its script.

What is the new The Batman Part II update?

Based on information from Puck’s latest report, director Matt Reeves is expected to hand over the eagerly anticipated script for The Batman Part II by Monday. Once the script has been submitted, a source reveals that the current plan is to start filming the movie in January. This would coincide with Robert Pattinson completing work on Dune 3, thereby enabling Warner Bros. to maintain its recently announced release date of 2027.

The making of “The Batman Part II” has taken quite some time, with its initial release being three years back, specifically in 2022. This sequel proved to be a blockbuster, raking in more than $770 million at the box office and featuring Robert Pattinson as the leading character.

After it premiered, another show based on the same subject, titled “The Penguin,” debuted, featuring Colin Farrell. This spin-off also received high acclaim from critics.

There’s a lot we don’t know yet about The Batman Part II, as James Gunn hinted during an interview with Rolling Stone. When asked if Matt Reeves’ Batman series might someday become part of the DC Universe, Gunn suggested that it’s unlikely but stopped short of ruling out the possibility completely.

In the upcoming movie The Batman Part II, it’s anticipated that Robert Pattinson, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell will rejoin the cast, taking on their previous characters: Bruce Wayne/Batman, Alfred Pennyworth, and Oz Cobb/Penguin respectively. Director Matt Reeves hasn’t specified who Batman (played by Pattinson) will confront in the sequel, but potential adversaries include Two-Face, Clayface, Hush, and even the Court of Owls, as various rumors suggest.
