The Batman Part II Gets Filming Update as Robert Pattinson’s 2025 Fills Up

The Batman Part II has received a new update.

After the release of The Batman in 2022 and The Penguin in 2024, director Matt Reeves is currently developing The Batman 2, or The Batman Part II, set to hit theaters in 2027. Originally planned for a 2026 release, the movie has experienced some scheduling changes.

What is the latest Batman Part II filming update?

Initially, Robert Pattinson had expressed that The Batman Part II might start filming towards the end of 2025. However, according to a recent update from Nexux Point News, the earliest it will begin production is in early 2026.

It appears that Robert Pattinson might be occupied for quite some time since he’s been selected for Denis Villeneuve’s upcoming film, Dune 3. This project is set to start shooting this summer, and if reports are correct, production will continue until the end of the year. The specific role Pattinson will play in Dune 3 hasn’t been fully disclosed yet.

Beyond this, Pattinson is involved in several other productions at different stages. At present, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey is being shot, while he’s expected to appear in upcoming films like Lynne Ramsay’s Die, My Love, Lance Oppenheim’s Primetime, and others. Furthermore, he’s linked to the production of Parker Finn’s Possession remake, though it remains undecided whether he’ll also act in it.

If The Batman 2 begins production in early 2026, it would provide ample time to meet its scheduled release date in October 2027. However, if production starts later than planned, there’s a potential risk of further delays, as Warner Bros. has not yet made any official comments on the subject.

In American cinemas, The Batman Part II is scheduled for release on October 1, 2027, from Warner Bros. Pictures. As of now, the release date for Dune 3 remains unknown, so it’s uncertain whether that film will hit the screens prior to The Batman 2.

The Batman and The Penguin, meanwhile, are both currently available to stream on Max.
