The DCU Wonder Woman movie and Matt Reeves’ The Batman 2 have both received exciting updates.
The creative direction of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe remains vibrant at Warner Bros. Pictures post the launch of Superman. In the near future, the DC Universe will progress with Peacemaker Season 2 coming up next month, while Supergirl and Clayface are slated for release in 2026.
Simultaneously, Reeves is developing his unique version of the DC Universe, titled “The Batman Epic Crime Saga.” This production features Robert Pattinson portraying the role of the Dark Knight. At present, the sequel to The Batman is anticipated for release in 2027.
What are the updates on Wonder Woman and The Batman 2?
As reported by Variety, instead of concentrating on a follow-up film for Superman, Warner Bros. is giving priority to the DCU Wonder Woman movie. However, they chose not to provide comments for Variety’s piece, and currently, no additional details are known.
Regarding The Batman 2, it’s said that Warner Bros. is quite excited about the recently submitted script. This bodes well for enthusiasts of the initial movie because significant revisions might not be required, suggesting that the movie can proceed with its current production schedule without any imminent changes in the release date.
In addition, discussions are ongoing about when Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman will officially debut within the live-action DC Universe. Although James Gunn has hinted that Pattinson likely won’t be the DCU’s Batman and there won’t be a crossover between these two universes, it’s worth mentioning that a The Brave and the Bold film featuring Batman is being developed by director Andy Muschietti as part of the DC Universe.
It seems like there’s been a lack of updates regarding The Brave and the Bold recently, leaving fans curious about Bruce Wayne’s part in the DC Universe and whether we might need to wait until after The Batman 2 for his appearance.
Right now, The Batman 2 is set to be released on October 1, 2027. As of now, there’s no release date for Wonder Woman, but if it gets priority treatment, fans might not have to wait too long for some pre-production updates.
