The Agency Cast: The Acolyte’s Jodie Turner-Smith Joins Showtime Drama

As a huge fan of Jodie Turner-Smith‘s acting abilities, I am beyond thrilled to hear about her latest role in “The Agency.” Turner-Smith’s versatility and talent have been on full display in her previous projects like “The Last Ship,” “Nightflyers,” and “Anne Boleyn.” Her addition to the cast of this espionage drama series is a masterstroke by Paramount+ with Showtime.

Jodie Turner-Smith, who is set to appear in “Star Wars: The Acolyte,” has joined the cast of Paramount+ and Showtime’s new espionage drama series, “The Agency.”

Turner-Smith has been chosen to bring the character of Sami Zahir, a social anthropology professor with a past connection to undercover CIA agent Martian, to life. This is her newest significant TV role following her appearances in The Last Ship, Nightflyers, and Anne Boleyn. In addition to The Agency, Turner-Smith will soon appear in the Apple TV+ production titled Bad Monkey alongside Vince Vaughn and Michelle Monaghan.

Who is in The Agency cast?

Turner-Smith’s castmates, Michael Fassbender (Martian), Jeffrey Wright (Henry), and Richard Gere (Bosko), are set to formally join the production. Principal photography for the espionage thriller, which is an adaptation of the French series “La Bureau des Légendes” that aired from 2015 to 2020, has commenced in London for Paramount+ and Showtime.

As a big fan of “The Agency,” I’d describe it this way: This intriguing series is brought to life by the creative minds of Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, who are both responsible for writing and executive producing. Joe Wright takes the helm as director for the initial two episodes, adding his unique vision. Additionally, George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Nina L. Diaz, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Ashley Stern, and Pascal Breton serve as executive producers. “The Agency” is proudly produced by Showtime Studios in collaboration with 101 Studios.

As a big fan of this series, I’d describe it like this: “In the story, I play the role of Martian, a CIA agent who was living undercover. Suddenly, I’m ordered to leave my secret life behind and go back to London Station. Just when I thought I left my past and the love I once had behind, she reappears, sparking an old flame. But my heart isn’t the only thing at stake; my career, real identity, and mission are all on the line in this dangerous game of international espionage and intrigue. Romance and danger collide, leaving me to navigate through a web of deceit and danger.”
