The Accountant 3 Update Given by Director for Ben Affleck Franchise

As an eager fan, I’m thrilled to share that “The Accountant 2” is still waiting for its grand premiere in cinemas, but here’s an exciting tidbit: Director Gavin O’Connor has already got his sights set on a three-part series!

What do we know about The Accountant 3?

At SXSW, where the movie debuted, Collider interviewed O’Connor about a potential third film. He affirmed that plans for another film are underway, as he and screenwriter Bill Dubuque are brainstorming a three-part series.

O’Connor stated, “There have been three key elements since the post-production process began, even during the editing of the first film. I wasn’t acquainted with Bill [Dubuque] beforehand; we met on our initial project. I received the script from Lynette Howell Taylor, and from there, I collaborated with Bill on the script I originally received. Any director will likely follow this approach: you receive a script, it stirs your emotions, but then you delve deeper into it, making it your own creative vision.

This mirrors remarks made by O’Connor recently, where he shared with Vanity Fair his vision for the series to develop into a trilogy, and even discussed this concept with Ben Affleck.

In addition to Affleck, The Accountant 2 will feature Jon Bernthal, J. K. Simmons, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson rejoining the cast as their characters Brax, Ray King, and Marybeth Medina. However, Anna Kendrick, who portrayed Dana Cummings in the original film, will not be appearing in the sequel.

In the summary for The Accountant 2, Christian Wolff is coaxed out from hiding by Treasury Agent Marybeth Medina following a mysterious assassination of someone near them. To uncover the murderer’s identity, Wolff turns to his distant yet exceptionally deadly brother Brax for assistance.

In the United States, “The Accountant 2” is set to hit cinema screens on April 25, 2025, with Amazon MGM Studios distributing it under Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
