Amazon Studios with MGM has set The Accountant 2 for a big-screen debut on April 25, 2025. Similar to the first film, it’ll hit theaters. Notably, this is a week ahead of Marvel’s Thunderbolts*. The ensemble cast includes Ben Affleck along with Jon Bernthal (The Punisher), J.K. Simmons (Whiplash), Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Spartacus), Daniella Pineda (Cowboy Bebop), Allison Robertson (Fear to be Brave), Robert Morgan (Babylon), and Grant Harvey (Emancipation).

When Marybeth Medina (Addai-Robinson), a Treasury Agent, is compelled to seek assistance from Christian Wolff (Affleck) after his former boss is mysteriously murdered, the story unfolds. With Brax (Bernthal), his brother who has a strained relationship but possesses deadly skills, Chris employs his exceptional intelligence and questionable tactics to unravel the mystery that has eluded others. As they inch closer to the truth, their efforts attract the unwanted attention of merciless assassins, each determined to halt their investigation.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming sequel, The Accountant 2, is being masterfully directed by Gavin O’Connor. Known for his exceptional work on the original film and collaborating with Ben Affleck in 2020’s The Way Back, O’Connor has also left his mark on films like Miracle (2004), Warrior (2011), and Jane Got a Gun (2015). Bill Dubuque is the brilliant mind behind the script for this eagerly anticipated movie.

Affleck and Matt Damon are teaming up with Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams to produce The Accountant 2. Originally set for release by Warner Bros., the movie has been moved to Amazon MGM Studios. Dani Bernfeld, Kevin Halloran, Michael Joe, Alison Winter, Scott Lastaiti, and Jamie Patricof are serving as executive producers on this project.
