Thanupp is a Malayalam drama film that serves as the directorial debut for cinematographer Ragesh Narayanan. Featuring Nidheesh Nambiar in the lead role, the movie hit theaters on October 4, 2024. Initially facing difficulties in finding an OTT partner, it’s now all set to premiere digitally this week.

Starting next week, I’m absolutely thrilled to share that I’ll be streaming on Manorama Max! The OTT platform made the exciting announcement via their Instagram handle: “Get ready for ‘Thanupp’, featuring Nidheeshnambiar, Jibiya, Kuttikkal Jayachandran, and Arun Kumar, directed by Ragesh Narayanan, premiering on Manorama Max from February 21!” Can’t wait to immerse myself in this fantastic production!

The trailer highlights an emerging love story between debutants Jibiya and Nidheesh Nambiar. As events unfold, it appears they’ve hidden something from their community. As tension escalates, they grow increasingly worried about being exposed. In the closing scene, they are depicted underwater, sparking curiosity among viewers as to what’s coming next.
Cast and crew of Thanupp
In the movie Thanupp, Nidheesh Nambiar stars as Pratheesh, Jibiya plays Treesa, Arun Kumar acts as Santhosh, Koottickal Jayachandran portrays Prakash, Aaru Bala appears in the role of Thamizhan, Satheesh Gopi is Shyju, Prinu Padiyoor acts as Unni, Ratheesh Iritty plays Ratheesh, and Radhakrishnan takes on the character of Mani.
In this cast, Madhu is known as Thankachan. Shiny Sarah takes on the role of Pratheesh’s mother, while Padmanabhan plays his father. K. S. Gopinath acts as Vaidyan. Samjeevan is Treesa’s father, and Ranjith M. embodies her uncle, with Daseema portraying her aunt.
Ragesh Narayanan, well-known for White Boys and Neeraja, ventured into film directing with Thanupp. The movie’s soundtrack is created by Bibin Ashok, who has previously collaborated with music director Bijibal. Anu Ananthan and Dr. Lakshmi were the ones responsible for producing this project. Despite Ragesh Narayanan having a history in cinematography, Manikandan P. S. was selected to manage the visuals instead.
