Thai GL Series The Loyal Pin Episode 1 Recap & Spoilers

As a seasoned viewer of Thai dramas, I must say that The Loyal Pin episode 1 has certainly piqued my interest. It brings me back to my childhood days when I used to watch such heartwarming stories unfold on our old television set.

On Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 10:15 p.m., Workpoint TV aired the long-awaited Thai series titled “The Loyal Pin.” Starring Freen Sarocha Chankimha as Lady Khunying Pin and Becky Rebecca Patricia Armstrong as Princess Anilpat, this drama unfolds the love story between these two characters.

In Episode 1 of The Loyal Pin, viewers are introduced to the Savettawarit Grand Palace. After the loss of her parents, Lady Pin is taken to the Lotus Palace by her aunt, Princess Pattamika, who offers to take care of her as both a mother and father from then on.

In a heartwarming turn of events, Princess Anin encounters a weeping Pin and forms a friendship with her. Notably, Princess Anin assures Pin that there’s no need for formalities when addressing her. As it turns out, Pin has been under the care of Princess Patt for many years at the palace. It was Lady Khlai, the Queen, who adopted Patt as a child. Pin shares that while her aunt can be stern, she cherishes her deeply and learns from her. Moreover, both Prince and Princess Alisa have shown kindness towards Pin. Their offspring – Anantawut, Arnon, and Anilpat – are the princes. The youngest, Anilpat, is the most playful, with his trusted servant, Prik, often joining in on his mischief. Meanwhile, Pin takes care of Princess Alisa and keeps her in check.

In the continuation of the story, Pin attends to Anin’s injury and advises her to prepare for her brother’s homecoming celebration. Later, they both meet and greet her brother at the gathering, celebrating their long-awaited reunion. Additionally, Anin requests a dance with Pin, which is followed by a flashback depicting how she used to comfort Pin when she felt homesick. Throughout their lives, from childhood playdates to school days together, they grow up side by side.

Previously, Pin intervened to shield Anin when she was engaged in play and a snake approached her. Subsequently, Pin faced reprimand from her aunt for leading Anin to a hazardous location. However, Anin claimed that she had asked Pin to participate in a naughty scheme with her. Anin also asserted that Pin had rescued her from peril. The displeased aunt then suggested to Patt that if she was going to discipline Pin, she should do the same for Anin as well. Patt responded by proposing to send Pin to a boarding school to curb their problematic behaviors. Upon being asked not to do so, Anin threatened that if the former were to leave, she would follow suit.

Currently, Pin and Anin are dancing together, with Pin expressing gratitude towards Anin for standing by her during tough times. Anin reassures Pin that she would never abandon her. Simultaneously, the Prince discusses the possibility of their daughter studying in England with Alisa. However, Alisa is against this plan as she feels their daughter is too young yet. Alisa then requests the Prince to reconsider until their child grows older.

Princess Alisa shares with Anin that her father is planning to send her to study abroad like her brothers. Furthermore, Anin asks Pin to go to the annual night market with her after seeing Princess Patt has headed out. Despite refusing at first, the latter agrees to go with her. Later, Pin and Anin play games and enjoy their time together. Meanwhile, Patt returns home and learns her niece is not at home. 

Additionally, Patt reprimands Pin for secretly leaving the palace after dark. Yet, Anin claims it was her mistake. She defends their actions, stating they only failed to notify her about their outing. Anin argues that a child should be allowed to explore the world outside and not confined within the palace without an adult companion. Despite Patt’s agreement with this viewpoint, she still disciplines Pin by grounding her for a week. Anin offers to share the punishment and decides to remain at the Lotus Palace.

How does The Loyal Pin episode 1 end?

Following the discipline, Anin inquires of Patt if it’s possible for her to reside at the Lotus Palace with Lady Pin. Patt consents, stating that Anin can assist her in studying for exams. Later, Anin shares with Pin that she merely wishes to spend the night with her, as she lacks textbooks. In their shared room, Anin discovers a toy pinwheel that she had given to Pin during their childhood, as well as the handkerchief she had gifted Pin when Patt reprimanded her.

Episode 1 of The Loyal Pin ends with Patt telling Pin that Anin will travel soon to study abroad.
