TFD Devs Reveal Exciting New Features and Jiggle Physics Coming in May Update

In approximately a month, The First Descendant Season 3 is set to unfold. Nexon has unveiled a host of fresh elements and content for this third installment, as well as a unique perk for the Season 3 battle pass – a reward for first-time participants. During the upcoming PAX EAST live broadcast, additional details about The First Descendant and more will be disclosed. Before the next episode of TFD rolls out in June, there are numerous confirmed May updates brimming with new features, such as the long-anticipated implementation of “jiggle physics”.

Exciting new features coming to The First Descendant in May

During the April 24th-30th AMA on Discord, TFD_Director_Jooms revealed several thrilling new additions coming to The First Descendant by the end of May. Let’s discuss what has been confirmed for arrival.

For the May 22nd update, introduce the “new Abyss VIB, Icemaden”. According to Jooms, this boss has been created to provide an “immersive battle experience”, ensuring it won’t be “easily defeated” but will also offer a challenge. Moreover, it aims to reduce the “difference in defeat time between those using guns and those relying on skills”.

As an excited fan, I’m thrilled about the upcoming changes! Starting from May 22nd, there’ll be an extension to the Socket Nodes in our game. Now, we can embed ‘Mutation Cells’ into these sockets, granting us extra effects or stats. Moreover, there are planned improvements to boost the effectiveness of skill-based damage dealers during Normal Void Erosion Purge, even though the details aren’t disclosed yet. Can’t wait to see what these updates bring!

In the May 22nd update, a highly anticipated addition is the Party Finder. This feature aims to enhance the matchmaking experience for gamers by allowing them to specify preferred tags when looking for teammates. The system will then suggest players who share similar interests or preferences, making it easier to find compatible party members. Essentially, this tool is designed to facilitate party play and make it more straightforward to connect with like-minded individuals using refined settings.


Beyond what’s already been mentioned, Nexon is also planning to establish a new Albion teleport spot close to ETA-0, in addition to the current one. Once implemented, players will have the option to select either location as their preferred teleport destination. According to Jooms, this feature is slated for the May update, which likely refers to May 22nd.

To summarize, during the AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, Jooms assured everyone that the “jiggle physics” feature is indeed scheduled to be released in the upcoming May update. This feature will only apply to female characters within the game, and as previously mentioned by Nexon, it would be implemented with suitable settings.
