2024 saw Digital Eclipse conclude with the debut of its highly praised Tetris anthology, Tetris Forever. This compilation gathered over a dozen iconic versions of the timeless puzzle game, and two more are set to be included with the upcoming Super Tetris Time Warp Update, together with requested adjustments for single-player mode.
In its recent update, Tetris Forever introduces two new additions: Super Tetris and Tetris (AcademySoft) version 3.12. Originally launched on MS-DOS, these games bring a fresh take to the classic Tetris experience. Super Tetris offers a twist by starting players with half an already filled screen of trash blocks. By clearing out this clutter, players can uncover power-ups throughout the game. On the other hand, Tetris (AcademySoft) is the final version created at the Soviet Union’s Academy of Sciences, featuring transparent square pieces. In this latest Tetris Forever update, some enhancements are being made to the original game, Tetris Time Warp. The maximum level for single-player has been increased from 15 to 30. A new Shield power-up is now included in multiplayer games. Additionally, a 1989 Mode has been introduced to recreate the classic feel of the Game Boy version. Furthermore, various additional options have been provided.
