Tesla’s recalls over 46,000 Cybertrucks due to exterior panels falling off

Once again, Tesla has announced a recall for their Cybertruck model. In this instance, it’s been found that an exterior trim panel might peel away and detach from the car, potentially heightening the chances of an accident. Approximately 46,000 units of the Cybertruck are being recalled to rectify this issue, making it the third significant recall for the vehicle since its release in November 2023.

Earlier this week, Tesla submitted a recall notice for the Cybertruck to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The focus of this recall is an issue pertaining to the “cant rail” part of the vehicle’s exterior.

In keeping with their customary practice, Tesla is offering complimentary updates and servicing for Cybertrucks impacted by this particular issue, however, the scale of the problem is substantial – approximately 46,000 units are reported to be involved in this latest recall. This follows two significant recalls on the Cybertruck. The initial recall happened in April 2024 when it was found that the gas pedal cover could detach and become lodged beneath the interior trim, potentially causing unintended acceleration. The second recall was announced in June 2024 due to an electrical glitch that deactivated the windshield wipers, which could pose a significant risk in inclement weather conditions.

The recent recall of the Cybertruck coincides with a significant drop in Tesla (TSLA) shares, losing approximately 40% of their worth since the start of the year. Keep an eye out for further updates on this topic as we continue to monitor the situation.
