Tesla (TSLA) Q3 2024 vehicle deliveries miss analyst expectations

Tesla (TSLA) Q3 2024 vehicle deliveries miss analyst expectations

As a seasoned gamer with a knack for keeping tabs on tech giants like Tesla, I must admit that this Q3 2024 vehicle deliveries report left me feeling a bit like I just missed a perfect score by one measly point in my favorite game – it’s frustrating!

In Q3 2024, Tesla unveiled its production and delivery report, but the news wasn’t positive as anticipated. Instead of exceeding the projected vehicle deliveries of more than 463k for the quarter, they fell slightly short. Consequently, the value of TSLA stocks decreased after the report was made public.

This week, I was thrilled to see Tesla share their Q3 2024 production and delivery report. The figures that caught my eye were Total Production for Q3 2024 hitting an impressive 469,796 units, and Total Deliveries landing just slightly short at 462,790. It’s worth noting that the delivery number is significant because financial analysts had anticipated a slightly higher figure of 463,310 vehicle deliveries for Q3 2024, as reported by CNBC.

Tesla’s real deliveries slightly fell short of the projected amount, leading to a decrease in Tesla’s stock price today, dropping from an opening of $247.55 per share to $241.50 per share. The company is putting significant effort into the launch of the Cybertruck, scheduled for 2024, but it has faced some issues such as two product recalls due to manufacturing and safety concerns. Recently, CEO Elon Musk has been a subject of controversy and criticism in public opinion, which might also impact the number of units sold and delivered.

Regardless, missing by only one percent likely isn’t cause for panic just yet. It will be interesting to see how Tesla navigates the miss and moves throughout the end of the year. Stay tuned for more tech company financial reporting and Tesla coverage, here at Shacknews.
