As a dedicated Tesla fan and follower of the company’s quarterly earnings reports, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of disappointment upon learning that Tesla had only managed to deliver 443,956 vehicles in Q2 2024. This number represented a 5 percent decrease from the impressive 466,140 vehicles delivered during the same quarter the previous year.
During the latest financial report for Q2 2024 released by Tesla this week, they disclosed several intriguing business statistics. One of these metrics was the number of vehicles Tesla delivered in the previous quarter. This quarter saw a noteworthy performance from Tesla, but it didn’t reach record-breaking levels. In comparison to Q2 2023, which was only a year ago, Tesla experienced a 5% decrease in vehicle deliveries during Q2 2024.
I was excitedly checking Tesla’s investor relations website this week for their Q2 2024 earnings results, and I was intrigued to find out that they had delivered a total of 443,956 vehicles in the second quarter of this year. In comparison, during the same period last year (Q2 2023), Tesla had delivered 466,140 vehicles, marking a 5% decrease.
In simpler terms, Tesla fell short of delivering 5% fewer vehicles than anticipated in the latest quarter, marking a disappointing result for the company following several quarters of declining delivery numbers since reaching a record high of 484,507 units in Q4 2023. Although it wasn’t as poor as the previous quarter with just 386,810 deliveries, Tesla is yet to identify a solution for increasing deliveries in FY 2024.
