Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Theatrical Rerelease Dates Set for 1990 Movie

Originally, before superhero films and comic book adaptations became widespread, four brothers made their mark on Hollywood. They’ve reappeared on the big screen multiple times, both live action and animated, but their initial attempt remains cherished. Now, in celebration of its 35th anniversary, the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is coming back to cinemas via Fathom Events.

In 1990, New Line Cinema released the initial Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, an immediate cinematic gem. Known for his work in both film and music, Steve Barron directed this classic, while Jim Henson’s Creature Shop crafted the costumes. This collaboration breathed life into Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo using a distinctive blend of animatronics and clay-modeled suits.

Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Entertainment, commented that few titles have garnered such an enthusiastic following as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in recent years,” he said. “With our slogan ‘It’s Turtle Time,’ Fathom Entertainment is thrilled to contribute to the Turtlemania phenomenon and assist in organizing a 35th anniversary celebration on the big screen that will be unparalleled. Cinema-goers from various generations are sure to enjoy the action and thrill.
