Teen Titans: DCU Movie Could Be Coming Sooner Than Fans Think

The Teen Titans DCU movie has received an exciting update.

Back in March 2024, news broke that a live-action Teen Titans film was being developed at DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures. The screenplay for this upcoming movie is penned by Ana Nogueira, but as of now, a director has not been appointed. It’s slated to be part of the DC Universe overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran.

In February 2025, Safran said, via Variety, that the script for Teen Titans is “not ready yet.”

Gunn commented, “Ana was incredibly enthusiastic about this project, and she gave us a fantastic draft of the script. She’s currently working on it, but let me assure you, it’s far from being the final version.

What is the update on the DCU Teen Titans movie?

Since the last update, according to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Nogueira has completed her initial draft for Teen Titans and is now required to make revisions for DC. She will carry out these revisions simultaneously as she works on Wonder Woman.

With Warner Bros. focusing significantly on Wonder Woman right now, this development brings a thrill as it may indicate a swift progression for the Teen Titans script as well. Given that Gunn has emphasized they won’t initiate any DCU projects until the script is up to par, and Nogueira is currently working on two DCU scripts simultaneously, it appears that Gunn and Safran have confidence in her abilities. This could suggest that the development of Teen Titans might be progressing rapidly.

At the moment, specifics regarding the project are kept confidential, since neither the storyline nor the actors’ roles have been disclosed yet.

2024 saw the commencement of DCU in December with Creature Commandos as its inaugural series. This was preceded by James Gunn’s Superman film, which hit screens this month, while Peacemaker’s second season is set to debut in August 2025. In 2026, we can expect the releases of Lanterns, Clayface, and Supergirl.
