As a devoted fan who has followed Ted Lasso from its very first kickoff, I can hardly contain my excitement at the prospect of a fourth season! The return of Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift would be like welcoming old friends back to our living rooms. Their characters have become an integral part of the show’s charm, and it wouldn’t feel right without them.

As of now, the fourth season of Ted Lasso hasn’t received an official go-ahead yet; but if it does, there are three actors who have confirmed their intention to reprise their roles.

In August 2020, the comedy show Ted Lasso debuted on Apple TV+. Starring Jason Sudeikis as the main character, the soccer-coach-themed series continued for a total of three seasons, wrapping up in May 2023.

By the set deadline, Warner Bros. Television has successfully obtained the rights to rehire three main cast members from the original Ted Lasso series, who are bound by the UK acting union Equity, if a fourth season is greenlit.

In the hypothetical fourth season of Ted Lasso, we can expect to see Hannah Waddingham reprising her role as Rebecca Walton, along with Brett Goldstein taking on his character Roy Kent once more, and Jeremy Swift returning as Leslie Higgins.

“Following the trio’s acquisition, the studio plans to contact the actors from Ted Lasso who have expired contracts under SAG-AFTRA. This means that fresh agreements will be necessary.” (Deadline’s article suggests)

The anticipated actors for this production include Ted Lasso portrayed by Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, and Juno Temple taking on the role of Keeley Jones.

It appears that one of the original stars of Ted Lasso, Phil Dunster (who plays Jamie Tart), has not been signed on for future seasons, possibly because he’s involved with another show, The Devil’s Hour on Prime Video and Surface on Apple. However, it remains to be seen which other cast members might be asked back for Season 4. They have all expressed their willingness to return if given the chance. Many are likely open to making guest appearances.

As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: Deadline has hinted that “early planning” is underway for Ted Lasso Season 4!
