Travis Kelce embodies various roles. As a skilled tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, he has contributed significantly to their multiple Super Bowl victories. Together with his brother, he co-hosts a humorous podcast. Moreover, he is in a relationship with one of the world’s most renowned entertainers, Taylor Swift.
Kelce, for the most part, isn’t really cut out for acting. Despite having a naturally humorous demeanor, his delivery often comes across as awkward. However, it’s important to note that his exceptional NFL career has already earned him significant wealth, so acting well is not necessarily a requirement for him. He only dabbles in acting when he feels like it.
In March 2023, Zach Ertz’s appearance on Saturday Night Live was generally disappointing. His performance in the upcoming Netflix film, Happy Gilmore 2, is even less impressive. The primary problem lies in the fact that Ertz has limited material to work with. He is just one of several cameos in the sequel, and his role fails to contribute anything significant to the storyline.
Taylor Swift gives Travis Kelce and Happy Gilmore 2 high praise
It would be best not to inquire Taylor Swift about the character, as she has openly expressed her fondness for Kelce’s role in the movie on Instagram, particularly a scene where Bad Bunny’s character imagines covering a restrained Kelce with honey, intending for mischief to ensue. (If you watch the film, this sequence may seem somewhat plausible.)
In her Instagram post, Swift exclaimed, “Happy Gilmore 2 left me laughing and cheering throughout! It’s definitely worth watching; I give it a 13/10 rating! Hurry up and stream it on Netflix immediately!” She also included a winking face emoji, subtly paying tribute to the scene that inspired her post.
In the following film, Kelce portrays a formerly nice busboy who has taken a turn for the worse. Contrasting sharply with his real-life persona as Travis Kelce, this character appears unfriendly. However, it should be noted that Kelce himself is well-liked and isn’t actually featured in “Happy Gilmore 2.” One potential issue could be that Kelce’s busboy character doesn’t seem villainous enough to fully embody the antagonist role.
While Taylor Swift may be right about her evaluation of the film, it doesn’t necessarily mean everyone should go watch it immediately. If you are a fan of Adam Sandler’s movies, then you might have already seen it or should consider seeing it. However, if you aren’t a fan of his work, it would be wise to skip it.
The movie is filled with comedic elements, humorously entertaining scenes, and a touch of emotional depth. It’s typical Adam Sandler fare, which isn’t necessarily a drawback. However, if you prefer more intellectually stimulating content, you might find some of the antics a bit too casual.
