Who is involved with Taron Egerton in Apple TV+’s Smoke?

In this game of life, I step into the shoes of arson investigator Dave Gudsen, played by Egerton. Alongside me is Michelle Calderone, a determined police detective portrayed by Jurnee Smollett. The star-studded cast of Smoke includes talents like Rafe Spall, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Hannah Emily Anderson, Anna Chlumsky, Adina Porter, Greg Kinnear, and the vibrant John Leguizamo.

The book “Smoke” was penned by Dennis Lehane, a renowned American author who is known for his novels such as Mystic River, Shutter Island, The Drop, and Live by Night. Remarkably, all four of these books have been adapted into films, with Lehane himself scripting the screenplays for Mystic River and The Drop.

It’s time for Lehane and Egerton to reunite, as they previously worked together on the crime series ‘Black Bird’, which is now streaming on Apple TV+. Egerton garnered recognition with Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his depiction of Jimmy Keene.

Lehane and Egerton are getting back together to work on Black Bird, another crime series that can be found on Apple TV+. Egerton was nominated for both the Emmys and Golden Globes due to his impressive portrayal of Jimmy Keene.

Apart from “Smoke” and “Black Bird,” Egerton has collaborated with Apple TV+ for the 2023 film titled “Tetris.” This film revolves around the individual who obtained the rights to disseminate the iconic video game.

In this production, Lehane serves as executive producer for the show titled “Smoke,” along with Egerton, Richard Plepler, Bradley Thomas, Dan Friedkin, Kari Skogland (who is also one of the directors), Joe Chappelle (also a director), and Jane Bartelme. Skogland, Chappelle, and Jim McKay are the directors for this series.

Although Smoke isn’t a real-life series, it draws inspiration from the Firebug podcast produced by truth.media Academy. The esteemed Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Kary Antholis hosted Firebug and serves as an executive producer for Smoke alongside Marc Smerling. Originally named Firebug, the show was later renamed to Smoke.
