Unexpectedly, Tamil film producer Dilli Babu sadly passed away in Chennai during the early hours of September 9. According to news sources, he was 50 years old and died around midnight. The funeral for Dilli Babu will take place at 4:30 PM on the same day, Monday, September 9.

The sudden demise of Dilli Babu has left everyone in the film industry stunned, particularly those associated with Tamil cinema. According to what’s been reported, it appears that Dilli Babu was taken to a private hospital due to an illness.

I was saddened to learn from India Today that the body of esteemed Tamil producer, Dilli Babu, will be arriving at his Perungalathur home in Chennai for tributes at 10:30 AM. Upon hearing this heartbreaking news, numerous individuals from the industry have come forward to offer their condolences on the passing of Dilli Babu.

For instance, Producer SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures expressed his shock over Dilli Babu’s demise. He wrote, “Deeply saddened by the loss of producer #Dillibabu of @AxessFilm Factory. So many young and new talents were supported by him. A big loss to the film industry. My condolences to the friends and family! Rest in Peace!! (sic).”

Producer G Dhananjeyan also shared a post expressing his condolences.

The director ARK Saravan expressedly mourned the passing of Dilli Babu. In his post, he wrote, “Oh Dilli Babu sir (with a broken heart emoji). He breathed life into the film Maragadha Nanayam for me. Tamil cinema has lost an exceptional human being, a great producer, and an accomplished individual like him. It’s hard for my heart to accept this reality. Rest in peace, Dilli Babu Sir.” (Informal translation)

It is pertinent to mention that Dilli Babu’s production house, Axess Film Factory, has produced several super hit films like Maragadha Nanayam, Iravukku Aayiram Kangal, Ratsasan, Oh My Kadavule, Bachelor, Miral, and Kalvan. The Tamil producer made his debut in 2015 with Urumeen.
