As reported by DT Next, SS Stanley’s funeral service is scheduled for tonight at the Valasaravakkam Electric Crematorium.

SS Stanley embarked on his cinematic path working under renowned directors Mahendran and Sasi. For more than ten years, he honed his skills as an assistant director before stepping into the director’s chair with April Maadhathil in 2002. This college love story starring Srikanth and Sneha proved to be a box office hit.

In 2004, he appeared in Pudhukottaiyilirundhu Saravanan alongside Dhanush. While the movie’s performance was modest, director SS Stanley believed that the plot was not fully grasped by the viewers.

Subsequently, he embarked on a fresh venture featuring Ravi Krishna and Sonia Agarwal. Regrettably, due to fiscal difficulties, the movie was postponed indefinitely, causing SS Stanley to momentarily step away from filmmaking. Later, he collaborated with Srikanth again for two more productions, one of which was Mercury Pookkal. His swan song as a director, Kizhakku Kadalkarai Salai (2006), was met with unfavorable critiques and signaled a hiatus in his directing journey.

In a fascinating turn of events in my professional journey, I, a former Tamil politician, found myself delving into the captivating world of acting. Notably, I appeared in films such as Periyar (2007), where I brought CN Annadurai to life on screen. I further expanded my repertoire with roles in Chiyaan Vikram’s Raavanan, Andavan Kattalai, Thalapathy Vijay’s Sarkar, and Vijay Sethupathi’s Maharaja. In an exciting twist, I was all set to make my directorial debut with Adam’s Apple under AR Murugadoss’s banner; however, the project unfortunately didn’t come to fruition.
