Tamannaah Bhatia shares her two cents on what makes South films different from Bollywood: 'They go for basic human emotions'

As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in the entertainment industry, I’ve had the privilege of observing and working alongside some of the most talented artists from both Bollywood and South cinema. After years of immersing myself in their unique creative processes, I can confidently say that each has its own distinct charm and value.

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has seamlessly established herself as a prominent figure in films spanning across India. Her talent has been showcased not only in Bollywood but also in South cinema, where she consistently delivers outstanding performances. In the midst of ongoing discussions about which film industry produces the finest films, Tamannaah, known for her role in Stree 2, has offered her perspective. She discussed the distinct aspects she’s observed between these two film industries over time.

On Raj Shamani’s podcast, I, Tamannaah Bhatia, highlighted some striking contrasts between the two massive film industries, from my perspective as a dedicated follower and participant in both. I emphasized that films produced in the South have a greater chance of success because they are deeply connected to our culture and traditional values. I believe these kinds of stories resonate across cultures worldwide since many of them reflect shared experiences.

She mentioned that a significant distinction she’s observed is that movies from the south often focus on specific geographical settings. She believes their content resonates globally mainly because they strive to share stories deeply rooted in those locations.

In her continuation, Tamannaah pointed out that many movies in the South typically select stories that don’t cater to diverse groups specifically. Instead, these stories usually focus on just one narrative related to a specific group, a subject matter with which they are well acquainted.

Furthermore, Tamannaah noted that South films emphasize interpersonal relationships and the poignant emotions associated with them as key elements in shaping a film’s narrative. In her words, “They focus on universal human emotions such as love for parents, sibling rivalry, or vengeance, which often serve as backdrops for multiple stories that delve deep into our shared emotional experiences.

Regarding Bollywood productions, the actress from Baahubali stated that numerous movies are produced with the intention of catering to everyone’s taste. Consequently, such films often fail to receive critical acclaim.

In terms of her professional life, Tamannaah recently made guest appearances in movies like Stree 2 and Vedaa, contributing lively dance numbers. Her upcoming project is Odela 2 where she will make an appearance.
