Talk to Me Directors Have Met With Marvel for Mystery Project

After achieving success with the Avengers Endgame directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, Marvel Studios could potentially collaborate with another sibling director pair, the up-and-coming horror filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou.

The Australian directors earned acclaim for their first full-length directorial project, the horror film “Talk to Me,” which went on to surpass A24’s previous highest-grossing horror movie record, amassing a global earnings of $92 million while being reportedly made with a budget of approximately $4.5 million.

Talk to Me directors on meeting with Marvel

In a recent conversation during an interview, the Philippou brothers hinted at their future projects in Hollywood, mentioning they’ve had a meeting with Marvel Studios recently.

The directors of Talk to Me are now gearing up for the upcoming theater debut of their next A24 horror film titled Bring Her Back. As before, they will be directing a script penned by Danny Philippou and Bill Hinzman. The talented cast includes Sally Hawkins, Billy Barratt, Stephen Phillips, Sally-Anne Upton, Jonah Wren Phillips, Olga Miller, Mischa Heywood, Liam Damons, Alina Bellchambers, along with others. This movie is set to make its grand entrance on May 30, 2025.

Right now, the Philippou brothers are simultaneously working on a follow-up to Talk to Me, titled Talk 2 Me. In an earlier conversation, they disclosed that they had already penned several scenes for this project while focusing on the original installment. The Philippou brothers will continue to direct Talk 2 Me, and Hinzman is also involved in co-writing the sequel. Previously, the directing duo were linked with the new live-action Street Fighter film as well. Unfortunately, due to scheduling issues, they had to withdraw from the high-profile project, which would have been their debut in directing a movie with a significant budget.
