Through a recent partnership with NVIDIA, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC are set to enhance their operations using advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Yum! Brands, the food company behind these popular chains, will leverage NVIDIA’s AI capabilities to optimize various aspects of its business.

On March 19, 2025, Yum! Brands announced a partnership with NVIDIA. Under this collaboration, NVIDIA’s technology will be integrated into Yum! Brands’ restaurants starting from Q2 2025. This includes AI agents for voice-automated order taking, advanced computer vision for improved operations, and quicker restaurant intelligence. The press release provided more details about these points.
- Voice Automated Order-Taking AI Agents: Advancing drive-thru and call center operations with conversational AI, powered by NVIDIA Riva and NVIDIA NIM microservices, that adapts to human speech patterns, understands complex menus and customer preferences and enables a more natural, seamless ordering experience
- Computer Vision Enhanced Operations: Deploying NVIDIA-powered computer vision to optimize drive-thru efficiency and back-of-house labor management through real-time analytics and alerts
- Accelerated Restaurant Intelligence: Utilizing AI-driven analytics and agents to assess restaurant performance, generating personalized action plans for restaurant managers based on best practices from top-performing locations
previously, Yum! Brands experimented with AI technologies in a handful of Taco Bell and Pizza Hut locations. However, this new collaboration is set to expand that support to approximately 500 restaurants encompassing Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC, and Habit Burger by the second quarter of 2025.
In this case, what sets it apart is that the artificial intelligence developed with NVIDIA software will belong exclusively to Yum! Brands. This gives them the ability to tailor and advance the technology. With this new collaboration, the AI will fall under the Byte by Yum! brand.
In the realm of artificial intelligence technology, NVIDIA is well-established and widely used. Yet, an unprecedented event is taking place – NVIDIA has never collaborated with a restaurant company before. A surprising turn of events, today NVIDIA declared that General Motors will incorporate its chips into AI training models. This week has been particularly active for the company in terms of partnerships and advancements.
