Kendrick Lamar and SZA to perform at Super Bowl halftime

Kendrick Lamar is preparing for a sensational Super Bowl half-time show in 2025, and he’s bringing along R&B star SZA. This electrifying news was revealed through a teaser video posted on January 23rd, which shows Kendrick walking onto a football field while talking on the phone. The video gets playful as SZA surprises him by dousing him with a bucket of Gatorade from behind. This video has spread like wildfire and hints at an amazing collaboration between the two musicians. The performance is scheduled for February 9, 2025, in New Orleans.

As a die-hard fan, I’ve always marveled at the extraordinary partnership between Kendrick and SZA. Their joint success extends to their chart-topping single “All the Stars” from the Black Panther soundtrack, and their synergy in the studio and on stage has consistently left fans in awe. Interestingly enough, SZA was once under the same label as Kendrick, Top Dawg Entertainment. She’s been open about their creative connection, and during her interview with Sherri on January 8, she shared her eagerness to collaborate more extensively with Lamar on an entire album. In her own words, “I would absolutely adore that opportunity. I think it would be phenomenal. He’s a genius, and part of his brilliance is his elusiveness and mystery. And I find that fascinating.

Besides their Super Bowl appearance, the two musicians are set to kick off the North American segment of their Grand National Tour in April 2025. This will be their initial joint tour since the 2018 Championship Tour.
