Sydney Sweeney will star in the Split Fiction movie

Just over two months have passed since Split Fiction hit the shelves, and the gears are already turning for a Hollywood adaptation of the latest Hazelight adventure. Story Kitchen is busy gathering the right people for this project, and they’ve managed to secure Sydney Sweeney as the lead actress and John M. Chu as the director.

According to Variety, Sydney Sweeney has agreed to take the lead role in Split Fiction, with John M. Chu set to direct. Sydney Sweeney, an up-and-coming actress, first gained recognition for her performance in HBO’s Euphoria, followed by roles in films such as Anyone But You and Immaculate. She also has plans to executive produce a film directed by Michael Bay titled Outrun, marking the second video game adaptation she is involved with.

Conversely, John M. Chu recently wrapped up the premiere of Wicked, a film that garnered a nomination for Best Picture at the Oscars. Prior to this, he was responsible for directing In the Heights, Crazy Rich Asians, and Now You See Me 2.

Sydney Sweeney is set to take on the role of producer for the upcoming movie adaptation of Split Fiction. As of now, it’s unclear whether she will portray Mio or Zoe, the film’s dual leads. This development marks the second film based on Hazelight games that is being worked on. Previously, in 2022, it was revealed that Dwayne Johnson would produce an adaptation of It Takes Two for streaming platform Amazon Prime.
