As a seasoned gamer and avid reader of psychological thrillers, I can hardly contain my excitement over the casting announcement for “The Housemaid.” With Sydney Sweeney and Brandon Sklenar leading the cast, this adaptation of Freida McFadden’s best-selling novel is shaping up to be a gripping tale of suspense.
Actor Brandon Sklenar, who was seen in “It Ends With Us,” has now confirmed his participation to play opposite Sydney Sweeney (from “Euphoria”) in Lionsgate’s upcoming film adaptation of the popular psychological thriller novel “The Housemaid” by Freida McFadden. Before this role, Sklenar had also earned recognition for portraying Spencer Dutton in the Paramount+ series 1923, a prequel spin-off of “Yellowstone.
Who will lead The Housemaid cast?
In this upcoming film, Sweeney and Oscar-nominated Amanda Seyfried will guide the narrative. Seyfried takes on the characters of Millie and Nina. The story revolves around a young woman seeking a fresh start by working as a housemaid for a wealthy couple. However, she’ll soon discover that her employers have peculiarities beyond their initial appearances. Additionally, Sklenar will portray Nina’s husband, Andrew.
Paul Feig, who directed “A Simple Favor,” will helm a new film he’s also written the screenplay for, titled “Rebecca Sonnenshine’s Project.” Emily Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried not only star in this production but are also serving as executive producers alongside McFadded and Alex Young. The trio of Feig, Todd Lieberman, and Laura Fischer will produce the film, while Chelsea Kujawa and Erin Jones-Wesley have been appointed to manage it on behalf of Lionsgate.

In a somewhat detached manner, I choose to overlook the disorder Nina creates merely for the purpose of tidying up after her. I also can’t help but notice her bizarre fabrications about her own child. Moreover, it appears as though Andrew is becoming increasingly shattered day by day. Yet, when I gaze into Andrew’s deep, tormented brown eyes, I find myself contemplating the life Nina leads. A life adorned with a walk-in closet, a luxurious car, and a seemingly flawless husband. I briefly entertain the thought of slipping into one of Nina’s immaculate white dresses, just to experience it. However, she quickly discovers my actions… and by the time I comprehend that my attic bedroom door can only be locked from the outside, it’s already too late.
…I find comfort in the thought that the Winchesters are unaware of my true identity. They’re not privy to my abilities…
