Nintendo has shared more information about its upcoming wheelchair basketball game, Drag x Drive, including a launch date. The highly anticipated title will showcase the motion control capabilities of the new Nintendo Switch 2, and gamers can look forward to playing it themselves when it becomes available in August 2025.
Nintendo has announced via their Nintendo Today app that Drag x Drive will hit shelves on August 14, 2025. Exclusively playable on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 console.
Originally presented during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct in April 2025, Drag x Drive stands out as a demonstration of Switch 2’s advanced motion control capabilities. This is a unique basketball game where all players are wheelchair-bound, and they use the Joy-Cons to maneuver and move themselves across the court. Additionally, players can pass to teammates or score points by shooting. Notably, among the games showcased, Drag x Drive is one of the few that leverages not only the gyro motion controls, but also the computer mouse-like optical sensor functions embedded in each Joy-Con.
Keep an eye out as we approach the launch of Drag x Drive in August 2025! We’ll be sharing additional information along the way. Meanwhile, keep tabs on the latest news regarding the Switch 2 too.
