Sweet Home: Who Are Neohumans?

As a dedicated fan of Sweet Home, I can’t contain my excitement for the upcoming third season. The concept of neohumans in this K-drama has always intrigued me – they are such an essential yet mysterious part of the storyline.

The popular apocalyptic thriller K-drama “Sweet Home” on Netflix is coming back for its third season on July 19, 2024. In this final chapter, humans, monsters, and an intriguing group called “neohumans” will clash in a grand finale. Some viewers are looking forward to the premiere but would appreciate a better grasp of what neohumans represent beforehand.

I’m a huge fan of the K-drama “Sweet Home,” and one thing that really stands out is the intriguing concept of Neohumans. I can’t help but be captivated by their role in the storyline, especially since our hero, Cha Hyun-Soo (played brilliantly by Song Kang), is himself a Neohuman. In this article, we delve deeper into what makes Neohumans unique and distinct from monsters.

Sweet Home Season 3: Are neohumans different from monsters?

Neohumans play a significant role in the storyline of Sweet Home. Though classified as monsters, they differ from the typical monster version. During their transformation into monsters, Neohumans do not undergo a complete metamorphosis. Originally called “special infectees” in the South Korean drama series, they are now referred to as “neohumans” after the events of season 2.

Humans like Hyun-Soo from the series Sweet Home are capable of commanding their monsterization process even after being infected. Hyun-Soo, the show’s primary character, is an exceptional case, having been the first identified human to evolve into a neohuman. Although he displayed early signs of infection at the onset of the first season, his transformation was incomplete. Instead, he retained his human characteristics during the process. Hyun-Soo possesses unique abilities as a neohuman, including using his monster traits as wings and weapons.

In the preview for Sweet Home season 3, it’s clear that a massive conflict is brewing between humans, monsters, and neohumans. Consequently, viewers are eagerly anticipating an exciting new chapter in this popular Netflix series.

In addition to Song Kang, the third season introduces Go Min-Si, Lee Jin-Wook, Park Gyu-Young, Lee Si-Young, and Lee Do-Hyun as regular cast members. The finale will be available for streaming on Netflix starting July 19, 2024.
