As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must confess, I’m absolutely astounded by Embark Studios’ audacity to bring The Finals, a game that showcases next-gen destruction tech, to the PlayStation 4! This is like trying to fit a Ferrari into a compact car, yet somehow they managed it.
Embark Studios has found a way to transport their explosive first-person shooter game, The Finals, to the PlayStation 4. This announcement came hand in hand with the unveiling of Season 5. Remarkably, they’ve managed to fit their graphically demanding and physics-intensive title onto the 10-year-old Sony gaming console.
The Finals PS4 port confirmed
Launched in 2023, The Finals, an outstanding game, received acclaim for its groundbreaking destruction technology that surpassed the capabilities of previous generation machines. However, contrary to expectations, developer Embark has managed to pull it off and is now porting the game to Sony’s 2013 console.
In the blog post about Season 5, it was mentioned that the game’s PS4 launch date was discreetly unveiled at the end of the announcement for the new content in Embark.
To round things off, we’re introducing our game on PlayStation 4! Now, you can participate in the world’s most renowned game show across a wider range of platforms than ever!
Additionally, the game is being updated to offer fresh playstyles on the current line of consoles, including Xbox Series X, Series S, PS5, and the upcoming PS5 Pro. These platforms will all receive new graphic modes as part of the update. With Season 5, players may look forward to engaging in the game’s action at a speedy 120Hz, though it remains unclear how frequently this framerate target will be reached.
Noteworthy as well is the performance of the latest PS4 adaptation of The Finals. As of now, Embark Studios has yet to disclose the targeted frame rate and resolution for the PS4 version, leading us to anticipate potential sacrifices in performance.
Despite the fact that cutting-edge exclusive titles such as The Finals and Star Wars Jedi Survivor are surprisingly playable on previous-generation consoles, it seems that these nearly ten-year-old systems still have some untouched potential.
Currently, The Finals isn’t playable on Xbox One, but there’s a possibility it might appear on this platform too given the recent release of the PS4 version. After all, anything could happen!
