Suriya starrer Vaadivaasal expected to begin soon as Vetrimaaran finishes Viduthalai Part 2? Here’s what producer has to say

As a seasoned observer of the Tamil film industry, I must say that the anticipation for Suriya and Vetrimaaran’s long-awaited project, Vaadivaasal, has been akin to waiting for a well-aged wine to mature – albeit with a bit more impatience. It’s heartening to hear that the film is finally gearing up for production after years of speculation and delays.

For years, movie enthusiasts have eagerly awaited the release of Suriya and director Vetrimaaran’s long-postponed project titled Vaadivaasal. Recently, the film’s producer provided some insight into the project’s current status during a recent interview.

During an interview with Behindwoods, the movie’s producer revealed that Suriya is set to start filming Vaadivaasal. Meanwhile, the director had been occupied with the production of Viduthalai Part 2, which has recently been released.

Additionally, the creator elaborated that the film production has been consistently moving forward during this period. Notably, the animatronic bull, a crucial component of the movie, is currently undergoing its last phase of creation in London, which suggests that filming will commence shortly.

For those not already familiar, Vaadivaasal is an upcoming movie starring Suriya as the main character. This film, directed by Vetrimaaran, will tell a story of vengeance amidst the vibrant setting of a traditional bull-taming festival in Tamil Nadu.

In the tale, it’s said that the main characters are Picchi and Marudan, who take part in the yearly bull-taming event in the village of Periyapatti. Their goal is to overpower a fierce bull that once bested Picchi’s father in this contest, creating a plot line filled with vengeance.

Initially, there were rumors suggesting that the movie might never see the light of day since it had been in development for a long period. However, during a past interview in 2024, the director made it clear that the film hadn’t been cancelled; rather, it had just experienced delays due to his other obligations.

Just a moment ago, Director Vetrimaaran unveiled his movie titled “Viduthalai: Part 2” on December 20, 2024. This gripping crime thriller unfolds against a backdrop of politics, making it the sequel to a two-part cinematic series.

The film delves into the story of a police officer who finds himself embroiled in a struggle against the head of a secessionist organization. Starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in principal parts, this movie also showcases Gautham Vasudev Menon, Manju Warrier, Kishore, Bhavani Sre, Rajiv Menon, Ilavarasu, and Balaji Sakthivel in important roles.

Next up, actor Suriya will star in a movie called “Retro,” which is being helmed by director Karthik Subbaraj. This upcoming production appears to blend romance and action, with Pooja Hegde taking on the role of the main female character.
