Suriya makes first public appearance after Kanguva release; promotes Bala’s Vanangaan

As a devoted admirer of the Tamil cinema industry, I can’t help but be captivated by the extraordinary journey of Suriya, an actor whose talent and resilience have left an indelible mark on the silver screen. His latest public appearance at the Vanangaan audio launch in Chennai was a poignant reminder of his unwavering dedication to his craft.

After the debut of the movie Kanguva in cinemas on November 14, Suriya experienced a temporary setback. Yet, he has since picked himself up and ventured into other creative endeavors. Most recently, he made his first public reappearance at the Vanangaan audio launch in Chennai, where he was alongside Sivakarthikeyan. There, he applauded the team’s dedication and effort.

During the gathering, Suriya mentioned that the movie Sethu, helmed by Bala, left a profound mark on him. He reminisced about receiving a call from the director in 2000 while working in Neikkarapatti. Bala shared that they would work together on their next project, and those words transformed his life.

During the filming of Pithamagan, Suriya shared that he gained valuable insights from the director each day. He acknowledged that without Bala’s guidance, he wouldn’t have reached his current success. Furthermore, after seeing Nandha, Gautham Menon cast him in Kaakha Kaakha, and later, Murugadoss invited him to star in Ghajini.

Without Nandha’s involvement, there wouldn’t have been the film Kaakha Kaakha. In fact, without Kaakha Kaakha, there would be no Vaaranam Aayiram and so on. I owe a great deal of gratitude to Bala sir for recognizing my potential and launching me as a promising talent in Tamil cinema, Suriya expressed.

The Kanguva actor acknowledged Bala for providing these chances. Meanwhile, Suriya commented on Vanangaan, stating, “Vanangaan is set to be a significant movie in Tamil cinema. I hope future generations will gain valuable insights from watching this film. Good luck, Arun Vijay.

2022 saw the announcement of “Vanangaan,” an upcoming action-drama movie directed by Bala. Originally, this film was produced by Suriya under his 2D Entertainment label, but due to some alterations in the project, Suriya had to part ways.

In the film project titled “Vanangaan”, which commenced filming in March 2023 and wrapped up in April 2024, Arun Vijay stepped in for Suriya, while Roshni Prakash replaced Krithi Shetty. The music is orchestrated by GV Prakash Kumar, with the cinematography and editing handled by Gurudev and Sathish Suriya respectively. The film is slated to hit theatres on January 10, 2025.

Instead, let’s say: Meanwhile, Suriya is teaming up with RJ Balaji in his 45th movie. This film marks a reunion of Suriya and Trisha on screen for the first time in twenty years.
