Suriya, Jyotika, Karthi Celebrate Mohanlal’s Thudarum at Home—See Their Special Gathering

The Mohanlal-led film titled “Thudarum” made its debut on the big screen on April 25th and continues to draw crowds at the box office, demonstrating its success. Audiences nationwide have been expressing favorable reviews about the movie. Notably, actors Suriya, Jyotika, and Karthi have also praised the film, and in recognition of this achievement, director Tharun Moorthy was invited to their home along with his family for a celebration.

After the meet-up, the filmmaker posted some snaps on Instagram. First up was a picture with Karthi, where he wrote, “Surfing the waves in Tinselwood.” He then added, “Thanks for inviting me and showing such warmth towards Malayalam movies and Lal sir. In the image, you can see him beaming with joy while standing alongside the star couple and their family. He expressed his gratitude for their warm invitation to celebrate the triumph of the movie “Thudarum,” which stars Mohanlal.

Mohanlal’s most recent Malayalam movie, Thudarum, continues to draw large crowds at the box office even weeks after its debut. The movie concluded its fourth weekend with a strong performance. On its fourth Sunday, it earned an additional Rs 2 crore, moving the Kerala gross towards the Rs 110 crore milestone.

Under the guidance of director Tharun Moorthy and production house Rejaputhra Visual Media, the movie titled ‘Thudarum’ has been a significant commercial triumph this year. It ranks as the third highest-earning Malayalam film and the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2025 so far. However, it is set to encounter new competition starting May 23, 2025, with Tovino Thomas’ upcoming release, ‘Narivetta’.

In the tranquil town of Thudarum, we find ourselves following Shanmugham, more commonly known as Benz – a taxi driver leading an unassuming existence. However, this serenity is abruptly disrupted when he unwittingly becomes embroiled in a conspiracy surrounding the death of his son. The narrative explores themes of police malpractice and personal retribution. Upon learning that his son was cold-bloodedly slain by a high-ranking officer, Benz embarks on a quest for justice in an unconventional manner.

The movie features Mohanlal, Shobana, Binu Pappu, Prakash Varma and several others in key roles.
