Superman’s ‘Worst Scene’ Cut After Test Screenings

The team behind the film version of Superman has announced that a harsh sequence featuring Krypto was eliminated from the DC Universe movie following audience previews.

In about fifteen days, James Gunn’s Superman film will be showing in cinemas. The main characters are David Corenswet portraying Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. A significant part of the promotional efforts for Superman has been focused on Krypto, Clark Kent/Superman’s powerful canine companion who is incredibly cute.

What scene was cut from Superman?

During an interview with Jake Hamilton on his show “Jake’s Takes,” Maria Gabriela de Faría and Sara Sampaio revealed that a scene featuring Ultraman punching Superman’s dog, Krypto, had been cut from the film.

“Apparently, it did really bad in the test screenings,” Sampaio said.

“It’s not okay,” de Faría, who plays The Engineer, added. “You can’t punch a dog.”

Regarding the scenes involving Krypto in the movie, de Faría clarified, “To make it clear, I didn’t strike the dog. In fact, it was the other way around – the dog attacked me initially.

Sampaio plays Eve Teschmacher in the film, joined by several other actors such as Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Neva Howell, Wendell Pierce, Skyler Gisondo, Beck Bennett, Mikaela Hoover, Christopher McDonald, Terence Rosemore, and Frank Grillo.)

The official summary for Superman states that this is the first feature film from DC Studios to be released in cinemas, produced by Warner Bros. Pictures.
