Superman’s Lex Luthor Actor Wants This Dream Team up in DCU

Approaching the release date for his debut as Lex Luthor in the first film of the DC Universe (DCU), actor Nicholas Hoult has expressed his desired team-up character for a future DC movie. In a recent interview, Hoult hinted at the possibility of his character collaborating with the Joker on the big screen.

In a chat with his Superman co-stars, the actor known for playing Nosferatu shared which DC character he’d prefer if his Lex Luthor were to join forces with – none other than the Joker.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Nicholas Hoult expressed his hope for a potential future collaboration between Lex and the Joker in our upcoming films. He found their dynamic in the comics intriguing and enjoyable, so he’d love to see that connection developed further if given the chance.

James Gunn has confirmed that Batman will be part of his reimagined DC Universe (DCU) in the initial installment called “Gods and Monsters,” specifically through a standalone film titled “The Brave and the Bold.” Since the DCU is still developing, Gunn hasn’t yet cast actors for characters from the Batman universe. One of the few exceptions is Tom Rhys playing Clayface.

At this point, it’s uncertain if Lex Luthor, Superman’s main enemy, will meet up with Joker, Batman’s toughest opponent, in Gunn’s movie world. This idea was not addressed when Zack Snyder managed the DCEU, which no longer exists. In Snyder’s universe, Jared Leto played the Joker and Jesse Eisenberg was Luthor. However, these characters did not interact with each other in any film, even though they both appeared in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
