A fresh video featuring our beloved superhero, Superman, has been released before the movie hits theaters in a couple of months. This video offers an exclusive sneak peek into the filmmaking process.

What happens in the Superman video?

The latest video offers an exclusive backstage glimpse into the filmmaking process, with director James Gunn (also co-CEO of DC Studios) expressing his affection for the character. Additionally, several actors from the movie are featured, including David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, who discuss how this new production marks the start of a fresh chapter in DC’s cinematic universe.

Superman’s premiere is scheduled for July 11, 2025, in cinemas, marking the beginning of DC Universe’s initial phase titled “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

The film’s synopsis describes Superman recounting his personal tale – transitioning from Clark Kent, a Smallville, Kansas native with Kryptonian roots, to embracing his dual identity. He symbolizes honesty, fairness, and the American ideal, yet remains grounded in human compassion amidst a world that views kindness as outdated.

In addition to David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan, the cast of Superman includes Isabela Merced portraying Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi taking on the role of Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría playing The Engineer, Sara Sampaio acting as Eve Teschmacher, Skyler Gisondo in the character of Jimmy Olsen, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, and Christopher McDonald portraying Ron Troupe.

The initial phase of the DC Universe, known as Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, was launched with the release of Creature Commandos towards the end of 2024. Kicking off this universe will be a Superman film by James Gunn, which promises a variety of films and TV series. Some of the confirmed projects include a movie centered on Batman and Robin titled The Brave and the Bold, a film called Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow focusing on Supergirl, a Swamp Thing movie, a Clayface production, an animated movie named Dynamic Duo, and several television shows.
