James Gunn and Nicholas Hoult have disclosed that the upcoming version of Superman will introduce an unusual character named “Mr. Charming” or “Mr. Dashing.
In approximately a month, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios will introduce Superman on the big screen. This movie is written and directed by Gunn, with David Corenswet playing the lead role, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Hoult portraying Lex Luthor.
What did James Gunn say about the Superman mystery character?
In an interview with Perri Nemiroff at Fandango, directors Gunn and Hoult offered insights on a fresh DC Universe character they’re calling Mr. Handsome.
“I remember your son’s favorite character was Mr. Handsome,” Gunn said to Hoult.
Hoult responded, “Indeed, I was referring to Mr. Handsome.” Earlier, he had mentioned Mr. Handsome quite frequently. It seemed that even while he was lying in bed, he would occasionally say, “Dad, it’s about Mr. Handsome.”
Hoult said, “Yes, I meant Mr. Handsome,” and he talked a lot about Mr. Handsome. Even when he was in bed, he would sometimes say, “It’s all about Mr. Handsome.
Gunn went on to clarify that “Mr. Handsome” is a being crafted by Lex within a petri dish, who navigates using an unattractive, repulsive hovering platform; making it the most unsightly and unpleasant entity in the world.
Supporters claim to have identified Mr. Handsome in certain trailers for Superman that have been previously unveiled, and they’re posting snapshots of him on platform X. Here are some examples you can check out:
