Superman: Krypto & Mister Terrific Deleted Scene Hinted by Set Video & Photos

A previously cut scene from the film ‘Superman’ has reappeared online, featuring a portrayal of Krypto apparently hurting Edi Gathegi’s character, Mister Terrific. Although this scene wasn’t included in the movie’s final cut, it serves to highlight some characteristics of the super dog.

Krypto injured Mister Terrific in Superman’s cut scenes

In June 2024, a previously unreleased clip from Superman’s film was posted, hinting at a scene involving Krypto and Mister Terrific (Michael Holt). Although the video doesn’t provide much background, it seems that Mister Terrific is trying to get Supergirl’s dog, Krypto, to follow him. Comically, things apparently don’t go as planned, with Krypto using his heat vision and possibly injuring Mister Terrific in the process.

At DCUPRIMETV, the account previously known as Twitter, they shared several behind-the-scenes photos from the movie set. Among these, there are a few that match up with the post-credits scene. In one of these snapshots, Mister Terrific seems to be sporting a bloodied bandage on his foot, hinting at the injury he likely sustained in his tussle with Krypto.

According to Gathegi, the scene mentioned earlier wasn’t originally intended to be shown after the credits. He added, “That part was actually in the movie itself. I wasn’t involved in the decision-making process, but it’s thrilling for me because it feels like a promise kept.

Gunn and his team developed Krypto by utilizing motion capture, with their own dog Ozu being a significant influence. Consequently, it’s not surprising that Ozu isn’t visible in the video, and if the scene had been included in the final cut, he likely would have been incorporated. Unfortunately, he was omitted during the editing process.

As an ardent fan, I’ve come across some fascinating insights about Krypto – often referred to as the world’s worst dog! In numerous interviews, director James Gunn has drawn parallels between Krypto and Ozu, using his personal experiences with the latter to shape this iconic character. Remarkably, these tales have sparked a surge in Google searches for “Adopt a Dog Near Me”, as reported by IGN. It’s truly astounding how a fictional character can inspire such real-world action!

Superman is currently playing in theaters.
