Superman Hall of Justice Mural Released, View DCU’s Metahumans & Vigilantes

In a certain Superman scene, attentive viewers believed they spotted some familiar characters in the background. More specifically, it appeared to be the Hall of Justice, adorned with a wall painting featuring various legendary heroes from the DC Universe. Recently, James Gunn validated its existence and unveiled high-resolution images of the artwork.

The mural has been unveiled on Facebook, Threads, and Bluesky. It seems to be crafted using glass mosaics and is inspired by a design by Winold Reiss that illustrates Cincinnati’s history. This implies that the artwork alludes to the actual Cincinnati Museum Center, which keeps the original Reiss mural. Interestingly, the Museum Center was also the inspiration for the Hall of Justice.

Who are the heroes in the Superman Hall of Justice mural?

In addition to the well-loved DC Comics characters depicted in the mural, Gunn hinted at another Easter egg pointing towards future events. He mentioned that one of the characters from the mural has already been chosen for a role in the DC Universe with a well-known actor. Later, on Threads, Gunn explained that he was not referring to his brother, Sean Gunn, who is shown in the mural as Maxwell Lord.

There’s a lot of speculation going around, with many theories focusing on iconic actors Gunn has previously collaborated with. One frequently mentioned name is Sylvester Stallone as the character Wildcat, the former boxer turned vigilante. This guess makes sense because in Creed, Wildcat was seen training other heroes to fight, much like how Rocky Balboa trained. Another widely discussed theory involves Pierce Brosnan reprising his role as Doctor Fate following Black Adam. Regardless of who it is, the mural contains several intriguing references to the deep-rooted history of the DC Universe.
