As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I, Michael Rosenbaum (formerly known as Smallville’s Lex Luthor), have secretly lent my voice for James Gunn’s upcoming Superman reboot. This news fuels the excitement about potentially revisiting the DC Universe once more. I dropped this little tidbit during a recent fan gathering.
Michael Rosenbaum confirms a voice cameo in Superman
Michael Rosenbaum, who previously played Lex Luthor, mentioned during his talk at Fan Expo Dallas that James Gunn, the director of an upcoming Superman film, asked him to do something enjoyable. He stated, “I have a few lines in this project I’m voicing.” When asked about the specific role, he said there wasn’t anything defined for this one but, since Gunn is in charge of DC, Rosenbaum believes he might find a way to include him in the movie somehow. For seven seasons on Smallville, Rosenbaum portrayed Lex Luthor, and he lent his voice to The Flash within Justice League. Additionally, due to their friendship with James Gunn, Rosenbaum made an appearance as Martinex in the entirety of Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy series.
As a die-hard fan, I’m thrilled to see that James Gunn has brought several of his trusted colleagues onto the Superman set! I can hardly wait to watch Sean Gunn bring Maxwell Lord to life, and I’m equally excited to see Nathan Fillion portray Guy Gardner. Additionally, Alan Tudyk and Michael Rooker lending their voices to robots within Superman’s Fortress of Solitude promises an unforgettable experience!
Although Rosenbaum hasn’t explicitly revealed the character he’s voicing at the Fortress, there are hints that he might be lending his voice to one of the robots. When questioned about not getting a bigger role, the actor disclosed that he inquired from Gunn, “Why am I not in Superman? Why didn’t I make it into the movie somehow?” He also voiced his desire to join the DCU, stating, “I’ll consider any opportunity that isn’t too ridiculous, or doesn’t make me roll my eyes, or I believe I could excel at, or think I can leave a mark, I’ll take it.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel excited! You see, Superman is set to drop on my birthday, and let me tell you, I have full faith in James Gunn’s leadership. He’s one of my closest friends, incredibly loyal, and I believe he has an exceptional vision for this project. My Smallville co-star, Tom Welling, agrees, stating that once Michael steps in, things only get better. This just reinforces my belief in his continued involvement in DC projects.
