Superman Budget Revealed for James Gunn’s DCU Movie

The budget and box office profit point for James Gunn’s Superman have been revealed.

Next month, Superman, officially, makes his U.S. theater debut under the direction of Gunn in the DCU movie. David Corenswet steps into the role of the main superhero, while Rachel Brosnahan portrays Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult takes on Lex Luthor.

What is the budget and box office profit point for Superman?

According to TheWrap’s Umberto Gonzalez, Superman has a budget of approximately $225 million.

The movie Superman is expected to make a profit if its global earnings surpass $500 million (excluding additional revenues). But in terms of popular success, it would be deemed a hit if it earns around $700 million.

It’s yet to be determined how much Superman earns during its initial weekend in theaters. Jurassic World Rebirth is set to premiere a week prior, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps follows two weeks later. This means that The Fantastic Four could encounter stiff competition at the box office throughout July.

Besides Corenswet, Brosnahan, and Luthor, the cast of Superman includes Edi Gathegi playing Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Terence Rosemarie as Otis, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and María Gabriela de Faría portraying Angela Spica/The Engineer.

In U.S. cinemas and IMAX, you’ll find Superman premiering on July 11, 2025, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures. After that, the DC Universe carries on with Peacemaker Season 2 in August. The next movie to hit the big screen will be Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, set for release in June 2026.
