David Corenswet steps into the role of our hero, Superman, with Rachel Brosnahan portraying Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult donning the villainous cape as Lex Luthor.

Although an official direct sequel to Superman hasn’t been announced yet, Gunn has hinted at something related being developed. He recently told Entertainment Weekly, “What I’m working on is somehow connected…Yes, yes, yes, yes. But is it a straightforward Superman sequel? I wouldn’t necessarily say so.

As per the latest update from Variety, Warner Bros. holds the potential for sequels featuring Corenswet and Brosnahan. Nevertheless, it seems that a sequel announcement is not expected soon.

It appears quite probable that enthusiasts of Gunn and Safran’s DCU won’t have to endure a lengthy wait before Superman makes another appearance. The projects Gunn is currently engaged with might include Superman, and there’s speculation that Corenswet could feature in the Supergirl movie scheduled for 2026 release.
