Supergirl Set Video With Jason Momoa’s Lobo Gives Best Look at Costume Yet

A clip is spreading across the internet, providing the most convincing glimpse so far of Jason Momoa portraying Lobo in the filming of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. Previously, some pictures, claiming to be Momoa as Lobo on set, had appeared on social media; however, the authenticity of those photos was often questioned.

Blurry Supergirl set video shows Jason Momoa’s Lobo in action

The video, seemingly filmed on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow set, suggests Lobo getting into a scuffle with another character. Although the quality is somewhat fuzzy, it appears that this portrayal of the character will stick closely to the comics. Notably, the fighting style demonstrated by Momoa’s version in the clip resembles comic book action. It seems his character employs his well-known chains during this particular scene. However, it remains unclear as to whom Lobo is battling in this footage. It’s plausible that this individual could be a bounty hunter or mercenary much like him.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is directed by Craig Gillespie, known for his past works such as Lars and the Real Girl (2007), I, Tonya (2017), and Cruella (2021). The screenplay was written by Ana Nogueira, who is also part of the writing team for the upcoming live-action DCU Teen Titans project.

The film is based on a well-known comic book miniseries with the same title. In other words, it’s been inspired by this specific series. The tagline for this movie goes like this: “Unlike Superman who was sent to Earth and nurtured by exceptionally kind parents, Kara was abandoned on Krypton. For the initial 14 years of her life, Kara spent her time all alone on a fragment of Krypton that separated from the planet.

In addition to Jason Momoa, the cast features Milly Alcock playing Kara Zor-El / Supergirl, Matthias Schoenaerts portraying Krem of the Yellow Hills, and Eve Ridley as Ruthye. This film is set to hit U.S. theaters on June 26, 2026.
