According to some enthusiastic viewers, a sneak peek at Jason Momoa donning the Lobo character’s costume might have been leaked from the set of “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow,” but it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet that the figure in the video is indeed Lobo. The announcement about Momoa taking on the role of Lobo in the DC Universe, under the direction of James Gunn and Peter Safran, was made last December. Prior to this, Momoa portrayed Aquaman within the DCEU.

A recently posted video snippet from “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” production, shared on the platform previously known as Twitter by @DCUSupermanNews, has sparked speculation among viewers that Jason Momoa might be making his debut as Lobo in the series.
Although the video appears to show Momoa as Lobo, it’s rather unclear due to its distance and blurriness. The figure thought to be Momoa can be seen on what might be an armored vehicle together with Milly Alcock’s Supergirl, both of whom are dressed in their comic-accurate outfits.
Although the video’s resolution is unclear, making it difficult to confirm if it’s Jason Momoa, the individual’s physique seems to align with the actor’s. In the video, this person can be seen wielding an axe, contrasting Lobo’s weapon in the comics, which is a Chained Hook. It’s plausible that Lobo’s weapon was altered to an axe for the movie, given Momoa’s demonstrated skill with throwing axes in previous instances.
In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Jason Momoa shared that he had been excited about portraying the character Lobo in the Supergirl film, as he is a fan of all Lobo comics and believed he was going to play this role when Zack Snyder contacted him. This was because, during the production of Batman vs. Superman, they needed a villain for the movie.
The movie titled “Shooting for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” will be set in the city of London, with its premiere scheduled for June 26, 2026.
