Universal Studios has successfully introduced the Super Nintendo World attractions in its California and Tokyo parks, breathing life into popular franchises such as Mario and Donkey Kong. The Orlando park will soon follow suit with its Nintendo makeover, as confirmed by the company, with Super Nintendo World expected to open at Universal Studios Orlando this May.
According to Nintendo’s third quarter earnings report for 2025, they announced the opening of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Orlando on May 22, 2025. The park will showcase not just a section inspired by Mario’s Mushroom Kingdom, but also an area dedicated to Donkey Kong Country.
At Universal Studios Orlando, Super Nintendo World is just one piece of a larger growth plan called Epic Universe. Beyond the beloved characters from Super Nintendo, this expansion also includes exciting new attractions inspired by movies like How to Train Your Dragon and Harry Potter, among others.
In the most recent financial report from Nintendo, they shared an update about Super Nintendo World. Interestingly, this wasn’t even the main highlight! They also disclosed that the Nintendo Switch has sold more than 150 million units throughout its lifetime.
