It appears that Japan is planning to release a beautiful vinyl collection featuring timeless video game melodies from Super Mario Bros., among others. Warner Music Japan has unveiled plans for vinyl records, including tracks from the original Super Mario Bros. games and rearranged versions of iconic tunes. The vinyl series is scheduled to debut in Japan around April 2025.
According to Blip Blop’s report, HMV Japan and Tower Records Japan have revealed information about upcoming albums featuring new tunes and arrangements based on classic Super Mario Bros. games such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, VS. Super Mario Bros., and Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. These albums are slated for release in Japan on April 30, 2025, and can be pre-ordered now for approximately $73 USD or 11,550 yen.
As a devoted admirer, I’m finding that these albums appear to be exclusively available through Japanese online retailers, such as Tower Records Japan and HMV Japan. Although they do offer international shipping, the cost of sending items overseas, particularly to locations like the United States, significantly increases the overall price. Despite this, it appears that this collection could make a cherished addition to any dedicated fan of classic gaming.
It’s important to note that Warner Bros. Japan won’t be holding onto the vinyl set outside of its current location permanently. Given the upcoming release of the album in April, keep an eye out for further information regarding Super Mario Bros.
