Summer of 69

Hulu has revealed that the new coming-of-age comedy directed by Brittany Runs a Marathon’s Jillian Bell, titled “Summer of 69,” will be released soon. The streaming service also unveiled some initial images from the upcoming movie, showcasing its primary cast with Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman playing Santa Monica.

In this movie, a shy teenager near the end of high school recruits a dancer from an exotic club to win over a longtime admirer. However, their relationship evolves into an unexpected friendship that teaches the protagonist about self-assurance, acceptance, and growing up.

When is the Summer of 69 release date?

On May 9, 2025, the series “The Summer of ’69” will begin streaming exclusively on Hulu. The lineup includes Charlie Day from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” playing Rick Richards, Paula Pell from “Girls5eva” as Betty, Liza Koshy from “A Family Affair” as Angel, Nicole Byer from “Nailed It!” as Destiny, Sam Morelos from “That ’90s Show” as Abby, Natalie Morales from “The Morning Show” as Robin Goode, Alex Moffat from “Saturday Night Live” as DJ Don, Matt Cornett from “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” as Max, Fernando Carsa from “Acapulco,” and Amalia Yoo from “Grand Army.

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share that this captivating comedy is the brainchild of Bell, who jointly crafted the screenplay with Liz Nico and Jules Byrne. Notably, it’s also a collaboration of Jeremy Garelick, Will Phelps, and Molle DeBartolo under American High Productions. Breanna Bell-Singer, Adam Goodman, Matt Skiena, and Lucas Carter are also part of the production team. This hilarious piece is proudly brought to you by American High as part of their partnership with the streaming platform.
